My Little Scythe

Coming in August 17 is the new game, Little Scythe, from Stonemeier Games. Inspired by the popular game, Scythe, Hoby Chou and his daughter, Vienna Chou designed a print and play game. Basically it is like the fan fiction version of a board game based on some of the mechanics of Scythe.

It a competitive game where each player controls 2 animal miniatures starting an adventure in the Kingdom of Pomme. The first to earn 4 trophies from among 8 possible categories, each player takes a turn to Move, Seek, or Make. With these actions, the player can increase their friendship and pies, power up their actions using upgrade tiles, complete quests, learn magic spells, discover precious resources through an innovative dice mechanism, deliver gems and apples to Castle Everfree, and perhaps even engage in a pie fight.

Another added bonus, is that it will have solo rules which is a must for a solo gamer such as myself. It is based on the Automa rules of Scythe called Automountie. There will be a 21 card deck with what the Automountie will do during its turn.

As a fan of Scythe, I can't wait for this game to retail. What an amazing story of fans creating a game based on their favorite game only to catch attention of everyone including the game publisher who ends up publishing the game.
